Scott Fisher, born in Upland in San Bernardino County, California, on February 9, 1962, was found murdered in his residence on August 25, 2004. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and face area, and the crime scene suggested it was an unprovoked and cold-blooded murder.

Clayton Lance McCobb, born in Reno in Washoe County, Nevada, on March 16, 1960, was a handyman in San Diego. His body was discovered on September 8, 2004, on Interstate 10 at Oak Valley Road, with three gunshot wounds and no identification.

The police solved the murders through old-school police work and informants coming forward with crucial information. Tracy Brown and Kathy Johnson, who found Scott Fisher’s body and called 911, provided valuable information to the police. Karen Gibson came forward with crucial evidence when she reported finding Kareem Radwan’s cell phone, which was laced with blood.

Connecting the Dots

The police connected the three murders using ballistics evidence and surveillance footage. A criminologist determined that the same .38-caliber gun was used in all three murders, and surveillance footage showed two individuals, a man and a woman, using Clayton McCobb’s credit card to buy items at an outlet mall. The same woman was seen using Kareem Radwan’s credit card at a 7-Eleven store and a Wal-Mart.
